Why four days works

Dubai compresses well — distances within the city are manageable, and four days is enough to mix the modern skyline with Old Dubai and a day outside the city, without needing a longer trip.

Days 1–2: Downtown and the Marina

Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and the Marina cover the city's modern side — this is also where most first-time visitors base themselves for easy access to restaurants and transport.

Day 3: Old Dubai

A different pace — the souks, the creek, and a more traditional side of the city that's easy to underestimate if the itinerary stays entirely downtown.

Day 4: Desert

A desert excursion is worth building into even a short Dubai trip — a genuinely different landscape from the rest of the itinerary, usually arranged as a half or full day out from the city.

Key things to know

  • November through March is generally the more comfortable window for outdoor time, including the desert leg.
  • Distances within the city are manageable, but Old Dubai and the desert both take real transit time — build that into the schedule.
  • Entry requirements can change, so confirm current visa guidance before booking.
