The pace is the point
Zanzibar's appeal isn't really about a list of things to do — it's the absence of one. Beachfront stays, warm water, and very little reason to plan much beyond where to eat that evening.
Stone Town adds contrast
Unlike a pure resort island, Zanzibar has Stone Town — genuine history and culture a short trip from the coast, for travellers who want at least a day or two of something other than the beach.
Who it suits
Couples on a honeymoon or baecation, and travellers who genuinely want a trip built around doing very little. It's less suited to a group wanting nightlife and organised activity every day.
When to go
Drier months are generally more predictable for beach-focused travel — confirm current seasonal guidance before booking.
